Getting Started…My Story Hello there, my name is Joannie Strange. I’m married and have 2 little girls’ ages 18 months and 2 months. Besides being a wife and mother, I’m also a licensed practical nurse and I’m working towards a web designing degree. Yeah I’m busy you could say. I started quilting in 2003. I wanted to give hand made gifts to my 5 bridesmaids and I made 4 wallhangings of the double wedding ring pattern and one twin size monkey wrench. My sister wants another monkey wrench quilt in the color of blue and orange. And sew I was hooked!! I loved the deciding factor of which fabrics to combine together then picking out the pattern and the most fun part is putting the sewn up blocks together to finally see a pattern immerging. How did I get started on eBay, did you ask? Well for a couple of months prior to opening my store www.sewstrangebnp.com on eBay. I toyed with the idea while being pregnant with my son. His initials are in the store logo because he was a stillbirth at 37 weeks and now he is in heaven with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I had to decide what was I going to sell. What was my "niche"? I enjoy making quilts. Sew I started with selling those items and ventured into selling fabrics also. Now I'm selling rag quilts, rag bags, traditional quilt tops, fabrics, embroidery, Warm & White/Natural batting, die cut shapes and letters. And now, look at me. I’m a Power Seller and thanks to my many customers. I’m working hard with the store so that I can be a stay at home mom to my two girls. This only can happen from the support of my customers. Keep coming back and your business is MUCH appreciated. The hand crafted items I make… I make one of a kind item like rag quilts, rag bags, traditional bags, and traditional quilt tops. I take custom orders for rag quilts. Shoot me an e-mail if you are interested. My items are one of a kind because I don’t make two unless if asked too. Also they are hand crafted and NOT mass produced. I take my time making the items to insure quality work but I’m not perfect in any way and the item my have a line not sewn straight or a row off just a hair, lay flat, or points meet where they should. I do believe it adds character to the item as well.
